Wardha River Overflows |
Chandrapur: Continuous heavy rainfall in Amravati and Yavatmal districts over the past two days has caused a significant rise in the water level of the Wardha River. Due to the sudden increase in flow, the crucial Bhoygaon Bridge on the Ghuggus–Gadchandur road has been completely submerged.
As a precautionary measure, the local administration has immediately shut down traffic movement on the Ghuggus–Gadchandur route. Commuters have been directed to use alternative routes until further notice. The rising river has disrupted normal life in several areas, prompting authorities to issue safety advisories to residents.
The district administration has appealed to citizens not to venture near the riverbanks and to avoid unnecessary travel until the situation stabilizes. Meanwhile, the disaster management teams are closely monitoring the flood condition and ensuring timely response.
Farmers along the river belt have expressed concern as the overflowing water may damage standing crops in low-lying fields. Officials have urged people to cooperate with the administration, refrain from believing rumors, and strictly follow official guidelines.
