Gosikhurd Dam Opens 27 Gates |
Bhandara – As of 6:00 PM today, the Gosikhurd Dam has 27 of its total 33 gates opened by 0.5 meters, resulting in a significant water discharge of 3,125 cumecs (equivalent to 1,10,360 cusecs). This controlled release is part of the dam management’s ongoing regulation of water flow during the monsoon season to ensure safe reservoir levels.
According to the official measurements recorded at the Wadsa, Ashti, and Chichdoh barrage monitoring centers, the Wainganga River’s current water level remains below the warning mark. This indicates that, despite the release, there is presently no immediate flood threat to the surrounding downstream areas.
Authorities are closely monitoring both the inflow into the dam and the river’s water levels. Local residents in low-lying areas have been advised to stay alert and follow any safety instructions issued by the disaster management teams in case of sudden changes in water flow.
