267 Students Fall Due to Suspected Food Poisoning |
Chandrapur – A shocking case of food poisoning has been reported at the Government Tribal Ashram School in Jambhulghat, operating under the Integrated Tribal Project in Chimur taluka. Out of the 538 students enrolled, as many as 267 are alleged to have suffered from food poisoning, according to the Tribal Struggle Committee.
Nine students were in serious condition and were immediately admitted to the sub-district hospital in Chimur. The incident occurred after last night’s dinner, when several students began feeling unwell. By the next morning, symptoms such as vomiting blood, swelling in the limbs, and dizziness were reported, prompting urgent medical care.

Preliminary inquiries suggest that stale food might have been served to the students. However, the exact cause is yet to be confirmed, and various medical tests are underway. The Tribal Development Department has taken serious note of the matter, and further investigation is in progress.
